Gatwick Airport becomes home to AeroSvit-Ukrainian Airlines
Ukraine's largest network carrier will fly passengers from the London facility to Kiev.
From this month, passengers can travel to the destination on five services offered during the week.
"We are delighted to welcome the new airline carrier, AeroSvit-Ukranian Airlines, to Gatwick which will provide the opportunity for around 65,000 passengers to fly direct to this destination," Stewart Wingate, Gatwick Airport’s chief executive, said.
Alexander Avdieiev, acting director general at AeroSvit-Ukrainian Airlines, added that passengers boarding the new flights can then proceed to other areas of Ukraine, like Odessa, Lugansk and Frankovsk.
In addition, from March 27th Aer Lingus will begin running flights between Gatwick Airport and Shannon. One-way flights on the route start at €24.99 (£21).
Aer Lingus also operates a service to Shannon from Heathrow Airport, which runs three times each day
