London Luton Airport and Wizz Air celebrate 8m travellers London Luton Airport has seen more than eight million passengers use services operated by Wizz Air.

Since the airline launched at the southern travel hub in May 2004, it has welcomed millions of people onboard.

Lucky Andrew Jackson was revealed to be the eight millionth person as he boarded a plane to Budapest and Wizz Air awarded him with a pair of free flights.

Wizz Air carries travellers from London Luton Airport to Bulgaria, Ukraine, Romania, Poland, Croatia and Hungary. It services more than 20 destinations within these central and eastern European countries.

However, there are other low-cost airlines that have a base at the facility including Ryanair, Monarch and easyJet.

Commenting on the benchmark, airline manager at London Luton Airport Simon Harley stated it was "proud to be Wizz Air's principal hub within the UK and to have played a part in the fantastic progress they have made since 2004".
