New cast members for Les Mis

New cast members for Les MisPeople in possession of West End theatre tickets to see Les Miserables from June 23rd will be entertained by a new cast of performers, it has been announced.

Some of the show's major roles will be filled by new actors, including the ruthless policeman Javert and the Thenardiers, a pair of corrupt and immoral innkeepers.

Javert will be played by Earl Carpenter, who recently filled the lead role in The Phantom of the Opera, while Thenardier will be embodied by Jimmy Johnston, whose London stage credits include The Pirates of Penzance.

Lion King announces 3-month extension

Lion King announces 3-month extensionHit musical The Lion King has announced a three-month extension to its stay in the West End.

The stage version of the Disney movie will now be taking bookings at the Lyceum Theatre until January 4th 2009.

Cast members currently bringing the characters in the story to life include Shaun Escoffery as Mufasa, George Asprey as Scar and Andile Gumbi as Simba.

Sanjeev Bhaskar joins Spamalot

Sanjeev Bhaskar joins SpamalotSanjeev Bhaskar, the former star of popular TV sketch show Goodness Gracious Me, is set to join the cast of West End comedy musical Spamalot.

The actor will take over the role of King Arthur from June 23rd.

Spamalot, which is a theatre spin-off of the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, will not represent Bhaskar's first appearance in the West End, as he previously starred in Art at the Whitehall Theatre.

X Factor star to hit the West End

X Factor star to hit the West EndRay Quinn, who came second to Leona Lewis in the 2006 series of X Factor, is to make his West End debut next month.

The singer, famous for his renditions of old jazz hits, is to star on stage in top musical Grease from June 16th.

He will perform as Doody in the West End musical alongside Danny Bayne who will continue to play in the lead role of Danny and Nicola Brazil playing Sandy.

We Will Rock You gets another 12 months

We Will Rock You gets another 12 monthsPeople on the lookout for West End theatre tickets for top shows will be happy to hear that We Will Rock You has had its booking period extended by 12 months.

The Queen musical will now be taking bookings at the Dominion Theatre until October 3rd next year.

We Will Rock You has been entertaining London theatre audiences since May 2002 and by September this year will have been seen by some four million people.

New performers for Les MiserablesPeople going to see the famous Les Miserables from June 23rd onwards will be entertained by two new cast members.

The part of the grown-up Eponine will be played by Nancy Sullivan, who some people may recognise following her recent appearance in the BBC talent show I'd Do Anything.

Another contender in a recent TV show, Leanne Dobinson, who featured in How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria, will join the cast of Les Miserables in the role of Cosette.
