Gruffalo run extended in LondonTheatre tickets may be in demand as popular family show The Gruffalo has had its run extended at the Duchess Theatre.

The production was originally scheduled to be on stage over Christmas and come to an end on January 4th, but is now set to close on January 11th.

Based on the popular children's book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, the Gruffalo tells the story of a mouse who sets off to look for food in a forest and encounters animals including a fox, an owl and a snake.

London theatre tickets scheme launchedThe annual Get Into London Theatre scheme is underway and offers people the opportunity to see some of the city's top shows at discount theatre ticket prices.

Launched on December 9th, the initiative offers cut-price theatre tickets for a range of shows with the intention of stimulating interest in stage productions.

Customers will be able to book theatre tickets for performances between January 1st and February 13th.

Norton to star on London stage

Norton to star on London stageTheatre tickets are set to be in demand when colourful comedian Graham Norton makes his West End debut next year in a hit musical.

The actor and television presenter, famous for hosting theatre-based reality shows such as I'd Do Anything, will take a lead role in La Cage aux Folles, which will run from January 19th to April 25th at the Playhouse Theatre.

Norton will replace actor Douglas Hodge as the cross-dressing character Albin and will give a preview of his performance alongside the rest of the cast at the Royal Variety Performance on December 11th at the London Palladium.

Twelfth Night comes to London stageThe Donmar Warehouse will continue its Donmar West End season at the Wyndham's Theatre next month with a production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.

A Tom Stoppard version of Anton Chekhov's Ivanov got the season underway in September and is due to come to an end on November 29th.

People who buy theatre tickets will be able to see Twelfth Night at the Wyndham's Theatre from December 5th to March 7th 2009, with Derek Jacobi playing the role of Malvolio.
