Former pop star Suzanne Shaw is set to extend her run playing Roxie Hart in the hit West End musical Chicago, according to reports.
Theatre tickets are set to be in demand as Shaw will act alongside Anna Jane Casey as rival Velma Kelly and Terence Maynard who plays slick lawyer Billy Flynn for four more weeks until August 9th, although she will not appear on Fridays.
A recent winner of ITV’s Dancing on Ice, Shaw has played to rave reviews and gained standing ovations for her performances as the notorious Roxie Hart since she joined the cast on June 2nd.
Following her time in chart-topping pop band Hear’Say, Shaw performed in a number of theatre shows, including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and the Rocky Horror Show.
Theatre tickets are constantly being sold for the musical as it is one of the West End’s most popular shows and has seen a number of famous faces, such as Denise Van Outen, Tony Hadley and Kelly Osbourne, join its cast over the years.
Chicago is playing at the Cambridge Theatre where it is currently taking bookings until February 2009.
