Budget airline Ryanair has announced a new route that will connect Birmingham Airport to Prague.
The new flight from the West Midlands to the Czech Republic capital will launch on October 26th and operate five times a week on every day except Thursday and Saturday.
Bridget Dowling of Ryanair said the new service would carry an additional 70,000 passengers a year through Birmingham and would boost the local economy with 70 new jobs.
The announcement of the Prague route follows the launch of Birmingham Airport as Ryanair’s new base last week.
This development led to travellers in the West Midlands being offered access to nine new destinations, including Frankfurt, Alicante, Fuerteventura, Krakow and Palma.
Another future development for people travelling through Birmingham will be the opening of the airport’s new £45 million terminal extension, construction of which began this month.
