Budget airline easyJet has launched a new flight connecting Gatwick Airport to Biarritz in south-west France.
The service will operate four times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Biarritz is located on the Bay of Biscay on France’s Atlantic coast and is known for its warm summers, luxurious beaches and 18th century architecture.
It also provides a convenient base from which to explore the Basque Country, a historic region in the western Pyrenees that spans the border between France and Spain.
David Osborne of easyJet said: "Biarritz is already a popular destination from other easyJet bases and now travellers from Gatwick have the opportunity to explore one of the most popular destinations on the west coast of France.
"Forward bookings for the route have been strong, which further proves the demand for affordable flights to the sun this summer."
The airline expects to carry 10,000 passengers on this new route in the first 12 months of operation.
