Virgin Atlantic plans to launch additional flights from Gatwick Airport to Jamaica this winter.
The airline is set to offer five extra services from Gatwick to Montego Bay. The flights are expected to prove popular among Jamaicans travelling home to see their families for Christmas and Brits eager to get away for some sunshine and relaxation.
Travellers will be able to access the additional connections on December 22nd, 23rd and 29th and on January 5th and 6th.
Steve Ridgway, chief executive of Virgin Atlantic, said: "This route has proved very popular with leisure customers and these additional flights will provide a further boost to the region’s economy, with over 2,000 passengers expected to take advantage of the extra services."
The airline offers flights to a number of Caribbean destinations from Gatwick, including Antigua, Barbados, Grenada, Kingston and St Lucia.
Its main base is at Heathrow Airport, which provides connections to New York, Shanghai, Singapore, Johannesburg, Mumbai and others.
