Year 10 pupils at Dame Elizabeth Cadbury Technology College have been awarded this year’s Birmingham International Airport Communication Award after impressing judges with their communication skills.
Teacher James McCormick told the Birmingham Post: "All of this will stand them in good stead when they leave school and enter the business world for themselves. It’s a real investment in the future."
Birmingham Airport has sponsored the award which aims to create better links between the world of education and work.
Speaking to the Birmingham Post, Birmingham Airport’s community affairs manager, Andy Holding, said: "The Airport is a great believer in the value of close ties between schools and businesses as one of the best ways of helping prepare students for the realities of life after school."
Birmingham International Airport was the sixth busiest airport in the UK in 2007, according to reports.
