Holidaymakers travelling from Belfast International Airport will now have more choice about where to visit after a new flight route was announced by Thomas Cook Airlines.
Belfast International Airport will now provide flights to Sharm el Sheikh, the popular and purpose-built holiday resort in Egypt.
Peter Constanti, chief executive of mainstream travel at Thomas Cook, said they were pleased to add Sharm el Sheikh to their list of destinations.
"It is important to us to be able to give customers flexibility regarding holiday destinations, so they can have the holiday they desire," he added.
The new flight option will become available from December this year and will add to the other eight destinations that Thomas Cook flies to from Belfast, including Tenerife, Larnaca, Monastir and Dalaman.
Belfast currently offers flights to 29 international scheduled destinations.
It is one of the many airports around the world that has had flights to Cancun in Mexico cancelled following the outbreak of swine flu.
