British Airways Cabin Crew Strike March 2010

With the BA Cabin Crew Strikes looming, FHR takes a closer look at the upcoming industrial action, and what you can do to minimise disruption to your travel plans.
When are the strikes?

There are 7 days of stikes planned for late March 2010.
20th,  21st and 22nd March 2010
27th, 28th, 29th and 30th March 2010
What is the dispute about?
In November, BA announced it was to reduce the number of cabin crew from 15 to 14 on long haul flights. Additionaly, a 2 year pay freeze will be introduced from 2010. The Unite Union are also unhappy about the proposed new contracts to be given to new staff and those who recieve a promotion. Check out a great BA Strike: Q&A article on the BBC website for more info.
What does this mean for travel plans?
BA have had a while to plan for the stikes, and believe they will be able to keep the number of cancellations to a minimum, although they will be operating with a different level of onboard service. If you have flights with BA on a planned stike day, you should check the information provided by BA on their website – British Airways cabin crew strike information to see if your flight has been cancelled.
If you have products booked with FHR, our standard cancellation policy applies, which in most cases allows a refund less a small cancellation fee provided you give at least 24 hours notice  or alternatively you can generally amend your booking to new dates free of charge. Full details on our cancellation policy are available in our Terms and Conditions.
