Heathrow Airport is set to have a direct service to Chicago resumed.
Virgin Atlantic will resume this route from May 9th this year.
It will be operated with an Airbus A340-300 four times each week initially and every day from May 22nd.
"This is a welcome addition for the Great Lakes region. We are pleased to be able to offer UK travellers even more options for travel to this popular leisure destination, famous for the great outdoors and real Americana," noted Toby McCarrick, executive director of the Great Lakes of North America.
Passengers can buy return flights from London's Heathrow Airport to Chicago's O'Hare Airport between May 9th and October 16th from £402 per person.
In addition, the airport last month began offering a new service to Basel. Passengers reaching the Swiss city from the London travel hub can purchase tickets from £89 return including taxes.
Holidaymakers and business travellers can also choose from three flights every weekday.
