Heathrow Airport last month experienced a record day for punctual departures, the travel hub announced.
Over 90 per cent of all departures took off on time on Tuesday March 22nd.
In addition, almost 94 per cent of arrivals touched down within 15 minutes of when they were scheduled to.
In March, the travel hub also recorded departures punctuality at over 85 per cent, a figure which is only beaten by October 2009's figure.
"This shows that when we’re not suffering from things beyond our control, like bad weather or strikes, we can run a smooth operation and get people away on time," Nick Cullen, Heathrow Airport's chief operating officer, said.
He added that, although there was room for improvement, the figures highlight how committed the facility's staff are.
Furthermore, the travel hub has recently won a number of awards, highlighting its achievements.
The Skytrax World Airport Awards named the facility the best of its kind for shopping and as the second best airport in Western Europe.
