Options for Gatwick Airport parking have increased with the opening of a new car park at the travel hub.
Last week (April 20th) the facility welcomed the £17 million short-stay car park, which is spread over six storeys.
An extra 1,117 passenger cars can be accommodated by the new facility, giving the airport a total of 32,600 parking spaces.
The project was completed within nine months using pre-cast structural concrete members and panels.
"… Because this new car park links directly to the terminal and new forecourt area it offers passengers the ultimate in terms of convenience," Ray Melee, director of capital projects at the airport, said.
In addition, Mr Melee pointed out that visitors will find it simple to find a car parking space as the facility contains an electric floor-by-floor car-monitoring system, which is ideal for those who are short on time.
The ground floor of the car park also features a passenger pick-up area for customers' convenience.
Furthermore, Gatwick Airport is also celebrating receiving fewer customer complaints since a new staff training programme was implemented.
