Belfast International Airport has opened a new dedicated smoking facility for travellers on the airside of the terminal.
For a £1 fee, passengers looking to light up before they board the aircraft can use the designated area past the security area.
The opening of the facility came in response to demand from passengers, a spokesman for Belfast International said, adding that he believed a small charge was reasonable considering the cost of building the area.
"We recognised that there was a demand for a smoking facility from some customers given that all public places (including airports) are now, and have been for a number of years, non-smoking," the statement added.
A free designated smoking area is still provided outside of the terminal builing.
From October 31st, twice daily flights will begin operating to Manchester Airport priced from £23.99 including taxes.
