easyJet has given its one millionth passenger from Newcastle Airport to Alicante flights for a whole year.
Angela Atkinson, from Middlesbrough, checked in with her daughter and granddaughter and was giving a special boarding card notifying her of her prize.
"The surprise was a fantastic start to our family holiday, especially as it’s the first time eight-year-old Alissa has flown. Winning free flights for a year is so exciting and I can’t wait to explore many new destinations that I wouldn’t have had the chance to visit before," she said.
Hugh Aitken, UK commercial manager at easyJet, added that the company is proud to welcome its one millionth passenger, on a service it started back in 2003.
He also thanked all the passengers who had flown with the firm from Newcastle Airport over the past eight years.
Last month, Newcastle Airport said that it was expecting around 45,000 passengers over the Easter bank holiday weekend.
