Now passengers using Heathrow Airport will receive rewards when they are on the WorldPoints loyalty programme and shop at the travel hub and others like it owned by BAA.
This is as a result of a partnership developed between WorldPoints and British Airways, which means that points for BA Miles can be redeemed.
Members of WorldPoints will get a single point for each £1 they spend in bars, shops, car parks and restaurants and can redeem each point for one BA Mile.
James Hillier, British Airways executive club manager, said: "We are delighted to announce our partnership with WorldPoints offering our customers the opportunity to earn BA Miles on virtually all airport spending."
Similarly, John Holland Kaye, commercial director at BAA, said that the move was made after listening to the opinions of WorldPoints cardholders and that the company wanted to give these people "the rewards they deserved".
Cardholders can also take advantage of the new partnership when they use other BAA travel hubs including Aberdeen Airport, Edinburgh Airport, Glasgow Airport, Stansted Airport and Southampton Airport.
