Heathrow Airport is a favourite with celebrities – indeed pop star Madonna and US Open golfing champion Rory McIlroy recently landed at the London travel hub.
But you do not need the bank accounts of the famous in order to enjoy some of the luxuries that Heathrow Airport has to offer.
British Airways (BA) has announced passengers in its Terminal 5 (T5) lounge will now have the chance to sip an English sparkling wine while waiting to board.
It claimed to have become the first airline to serve such a beverage not only in its lounge, but also on its aircraft.
First-class customers can select the Balfour Brut Rose from Kent's Hush Heath winery between July and September.
Head of catering at British Airways Lynn McClelland stated that first-class travellers "expect the very best and we are delighted to be able to offer them this fantastic English wine. In tastings it has performed brilliantly and we believe it will really hold its own at 35,000 ft".
