This week we’re going to give you a 2-4-1 on the top tip front because, along with the Chimichurri steak, we want to highlight the fact that the Crowne Plaza offers up to 21 day parking packages if you stay with them the night before your flight and book through FHR! That’s absolutely great for those of you who are used to spending several weeks away in order to escape the usually soggy British winter.

The facilities at this hotel are chic and modern and its proximity to Heathrow makes it a no.1 destination for pre-flight stays. A 4 star hotel with some 465 rooms, there’s more than one for every day of the year here! You can choose from a range and always upgrade after you get there – which is recommended on Trip Advisor. After you’ve arrived you can take a meal in Orwell’s Bar & Brasserie for some contemporary cuisine including that Chimichurri steak whose sauce is usually made with the fresh-flavours of parsley, oregano, shallots, lemon, wine vinegar and garlic.

If you’re looking for a cosier experience, pop over to Dr O’Driscoll’s Irish bar where button-back bar benches and distressed wooden tables are accompanied by those old-fashioned coloured glass pub dividers. Pull a stall up to the bar to order your traditional pub dishes, including a roast dinner on Sunday, and watch the sport on TV.

Even better, Eriki’s offers a truly authentic Indian experience with multi-award-winning dishes which give you a taste of delicate Indian cuisine. Sit on a Jali backed chair, at a hand crafted Indian table and feel like you’re there. If you’re going away you probably have the travel bug so why not sate it at least a little bit before your flight the next day?

Make use of the fitness classes and instruction available in the Spirit Health Club at the Crowne Plaza. Then go for a swim in the largest pool available around the Heathrow area and get your lengths in. Or if you’re in the mood for relaxing then make use of the steam room, sauna and jacuzzi or even get yourself a beauty treatment – we always recommend those for relaxing.

Then you can get on the Hotel Hoppa transfer service and take a 10-15 minute ride to your terminal in time to catch your flight! In our 30 years of experience with airport hotels (yes, 30 years, in fact it’s FHR’s 30th birthday this year!) we know what makes a good airport hotel and the Crowne Plaza fits the bill.
