This is a self park car park where you keep your own keys. There are no height restrictions at the car park but your vehicle must fit within a standardised parking space. The car park operates an automatic vehicle recognition system - make sure you have provided your correct vehicle registration or you may be refused entry on arrival. Very easy website to book airport parking and excellent location of carpark as its located right outside the airport terminal quick and easy parking as you arrive the automatic number plate recognition opens up the barrier pick a parking bay and take your keys with you on return just walk out of airport terminal jump into car and drive away back home i would recommend booking with bookfhr.com when parking at prestwick airport as you wont find parking any cheaper

Easy to find, clear instructions, very close to terminal. However, upon leaving the airport the barrier did not raise automatically as stated in the instructions so had to press help button and wait for an attendant to come over to the barrier, where fortunately I had a printed paper copy of my booking so surrended this to him so I was allowed to exit without charge. As the time was 16:20 on a weekday this was no problem but out of hours this could certainly be a major issue for anyone at the barrier and indeed the queue of cars stuck behind you. Advice, take a printed paper copy with you and dont rely on your phone or tablet!

Everything went well, however the short term car park access seems to have been updated and the procedure advsed by yourselves has changed. Access is via an entry ticket which is validated at the information desk when you return and is used at the exit barrier. Excellent location for access to the airport

Parking was in car park 3 which, while close to the Airport, involed quite a hike with cases over a flyover with no trolleys allowed. Entry & exit was unmanned and method was not immediately obvious.

there was no transfer you had to walk no matter the weather or your health, half the car park was closed requiring me to park at the furthest point away from the terminal building. most definatley the worst airport parking I have ever used.

Directions for Car Park 2
From the Glasgow city centreTake the M77 south until it changes to the A77. The airport is north of the town of Ayr between Prestwick and Monkton (and east of the A77). The Journey takes about 40 minutes.
From the A78:
Continue forward (signposted Barassie, Loans).
At Meadowhead Roundabout take the first exit onto the A79.
At the next roundabout you come to, take the first exit left onto Tweed Road which leads directly to the airport terminal.
From Glasgow:
Join the M77 motorway southbound (signposted M77 Kilmarnock, Prestwick Airport).
Continue forward onto the A77.
At Dutch House Roundabout take the third exit.
At the next roundabout you come to, take the first exit left onto Tweed Road which leads directly to the airport terminal.
From the A78 continue forward (signposted Barassie, Loans).
At Meadowhead Roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A78 (signposted Ayr, Prestwick Airport).
At Monktonhill Roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A79 signposted Prestwick Airport.
Continue forward on the A79 entering the airport and follow signs for Car Park 2 - it's next to the terminal on the upper level.
On arrival
Drive up to the entry barrier, where your registration will be automatically recognised. The barrier will then lift, but if there are any issues press the intercom button for assistance. Make sure you don't take a ticket from the barrier, as you will be charged again for your parking.
Park in any space, keep hold of your keys and take the short 2-minute walk to check-in.
On return
Walk back to your car from the terminal and drive to the exit barrier, where the barrier will automatically lift.
If you have stayed later than your booked date you will need to pay for any additional time at the machine located by the exit barrier.
The car park is suitable for customers with limited mobility, as itÂ’s one of the closest car parks to the terminal.
There are disabled spaces available on a first come first served basis - just have a copy of your Blue Badge visible in the car.
