There are a number of options for parking at Liverpool Airport including Meet & Greet, on-airport parking and off-airport parking where you will need to get a transfer to the terminal. All car parks selected by FHR are secure and if they are not in walking distance to the terminal they offer regular transfers.

Liverpool Airport, surprisingly one the UK's oldest operation airports officially opened in 1933, known as Liverpool (Speke) Airport. It is the first UK airport to be named after an individual, when in 2001 it became John Lennon Liverpool Airport as a lasting tribute to one of Liverpool's most famous sons.

Situated approx. 7 miles from the city, you'll find it next to the River Mersey. Currently the 12th busiest UK airport with around 4.8 million passengers per year, the numbers have vastly improved since the mid-nineties when it was way down the list in 20th place. Catering primarily for the low-cost operators with over 60 destinations throughout Europe, the airports layout means that passengers need to walk without cover between terminal and aircraft.

The original terminal building is a grade 2 listed Art Deco Style building dating from the late 1930s and can famously seen on early television footage showing packed terraces full of Beatles fans. Left derelict when the new terminal opened in 1986, it was converted into a hotel in 2001.

There are several options both on and off the airport, including some in walking distance. For maximum convenience, there are Meet and Greet services.


On-Airport Parking at Liverpool Airport

Within the perimeter of Liverpool airport and run by the airport there are several car parks, from the Long-stay car park to the Short-stay multi-storey car park. These car parks are self-park which means you can keep your car keys.  


Long Stay Parking at Liverpool Airport

All car parks on site at Liverpool Airport are within walking distance of the terminal. The official Long Stay car park is an approximate 5-minute stroll to the terminal, whilst Cheap Parking, slightly further away at approx. 7-minutes walking time.


Short Stay Parking at Liverpool Airport

For those in a hurry, the Short Stay multi-storey car park is very close with a quick 60 second walk to the terminal.


Off-Airport Parking near Liverpool Airport

Often the best value as it is a little further away, but you will need to leave your car keys at this type of car park.

Imagine Outdoor Car park is just a 5-7 minute walk, however they do run a minibus for which there is a small charge if you prefer. Imagine also offers an Indoor Parking option, especially great for those winter periods.


Meet and Greet at Liverpool Airport

Imagine Meet and Greet Parking will also provide a meet and a return greet right outside the terminal for maximum convenience. Super for larger parties with children, those with large items of luggage like skis etc. and for anyone with mobility problems.


Hotels with parking at Liverpool Airport

There are a few hotels close to Liverpool Airport. The closest being the Hampton by Hilton right opposite the terminal building.

The old Art Deco terminal is now the stylish and comfortable Crowne Plaza Hotel and is close at just over a mile from the airport terminal.


Liverpool Airport Departure Lounge

Here you will find all the usual airport facilities, cafes and restaurants including Frankie and Benny's, The Estuary Bar and Grill, Burger King and Starbucks, or you can pop into Wetherspoons for a relaxing pre-flight drink.

Enjoy a little retail therapy in World duty free before your flight, or in one of the other outlets including JD Sports and Accessorise as well as the With Love from Liverpool souvenir shop.

Other services to be found are a bureau de change, cash dispensers, toilets, baby changing rooms and a prayer room.

Imagine Car Parking (Outdoor)

We paid extra cash to cover the airport drop- off and collect fees. We were taken to the airport as planned. However, on return there was no driver to pick us up, so we were told to walk to the car park. At least half a mile ! Good job it was not raining ! We also lost the cash we paid to collect us !

Easy walking distance to the terminal. Good footpaths and crossings. Feels safe to leave your car here due to cameras. Just need to take mental note of where you park so you can find it when you get back to car park

We eventually found a space and parked for our week holiday. However, on return, the machine wouldn't accept out ticket and tried to charge an extra £100. Tried to call FHR but got no answer. Eventually returned to the barrier and pressed help button. Operator took registration number then opened barrier. No explanation of why there was a problem.

Arriving at car park wasn’t to much of an issue, just had to speak to an attendant to get a ticket and into the car park. The issue was on the way back at midnight, the ticket did not work and was trying to charge us £90 to get out. Fortunately we spoke to a very helpful attendant who sorted the issue out

I would only use this car park again because it is so convenient for the airport. The reason for the poor rating was that upon arrival at the car park the barrier didn’t recognise our numberplate and we had to buzz for assistance. At the end of the holiday we posted the ticket into the machine to be told we were required to pay over £60 in order to exit the car park, a poor service when we had already booked and paid online. Again we had to buzz for assistance and go through car Reg details etc before we were allowed to leave the car park. All in all a very frustrating and embarrassing end to our holiday when all we wanted to do was leave the airport and drive home ASAP.

Amazing helpful staff, so professional and warm when we arrived. Made us very welcome. Meet and greet took the stress out of trying to park after a long drive from Glasgow to Liverpool. Thank you and we would highly recommend to anyone and will definatley use in the future

Frequently Asked Questions

Cancelling a booking is dependent on the type of product booked and the car park type as Non-flexible bookings cannot be cancelled at any time.

Flexible bookings can be cancelled any time after the booking is made, up to 24 hours before your booking arrival date.

There is a £10 cancellation fee, with the balance refunded. unless you took out the waiver fee when booking.

You can make the cancellation yourself by going to the help page and clicking on Cancel Booking

Non-flexible bookings cannot be amended or cancelled. Flexible bookings can be amended without incurring an amendment fee, however if the amendment results in a price increase ( e.g. a date change), you will be required to pay the additional amount. You can request the amend by going to and clicking on Amend Booking.

Holders of the Park Mark® award have been risk assessed by a crime prevention officer from the local police. The Safer Parking Scheme is an initiative of the Association of Chief Police Officers and is managed by the British Parking Association.

We'll send you an email confirmation following your booking. This will confirm all the details of your booking, including a booking reference, so you can check that everything is ok.

If you didn't receive a booking confirmation email from us, please check your email provider spam/junk folder.

To re-send your booking confirmation, find your booking and select the 'Re-send booking confirmation' option.

It is important to have access to your Booking Confirmation, but you don’t have to print it. You must however ensure it is fully visible on your phone or device, so you can see all the information, directions and procedures you need to follow.

Booking Confirmations are sent upon completion of your booking, so if you don’t see it in your inbox please check your Junk/Spam folder in case it is there. 

You can view or print or resend your confirmation voucher yourself by going to our help section and clicking on  View Booking or Resend Confirmation Email.

If you do not have the booking reference number, you can email us, or call us.

There is no charge to amend your car details.

You can make the change yourself by going to our help section and clicking on Amend Booking.

An invoice showing payment made will be sent to you by separate email from either Worldpay or from PayPal. 

We don't use the parking confirmation as a payment receipt, as they sometimes need to be handed over to the car park.  

You can get a VAT invoice by going to our Help page and clicking on Request VAT Invoice

Most car parks charge per day or part thereof, i.e. they count the day you enter the car park and the day you leave. That means a 7 night trip is 8 calculated as days parking and a 14 night trip will be 15 days parking.

This will depend on the car park you book, but we recommend that you arrive to drop the car off at least minutes 30 minutes prior to your earliest check-in/bag drop time. 

The 'parking from' time on your confirmation is the time slot the car park has allocated you, so it’s important to let us know if you need to change the time, if its more than 24 hours before you are due to park. If it is less than 24 hours before your meet is due, you should call the chauffeurs using the number on your confirmation voucher.

Vehicle Details We can update vehicle details at any point. There is no charge for amending vehicle details.

Dates & Times Most bookings can be changed up to 24 hours before the booked arrival date. However, if you have booked an option marked as Non-refundable or Saver then the dates and times on these options cannot be amended and the booking cannot be cancelled. We are unable to amend details with 24 hours of your booked arrival date.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund on bookings that aren’t used due to a vehicle breaking down.

It's not a problem if your flight back to Liverpool is delayed. Your car will be kept safe and you can pay for any additional parking at the car park when you return to collect your vehicle.
