Bristol Airport information
Like many airports, Bristol Airport is built on the site of a former RAF base, opening in 1957 as Bristol (Lulsgate) Airport, replacing Bristol (Whitchurch) Airport as the city's airport. Now known simply as Bristol Airport, it is owned exclusively by Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan.
In 2016 it was the 9th busiest airport in the UK, with over 7.6 million passengers passing through. A popular airport for travellers from Wales, Somerset and Devon.
Located just eight miles south of the city centre, it has good transport links and is easily accessible from anywhere in the South West.
How to Get to Bristol Airport
Bristol Airport is located on the A38 and is signposted from the M5 motorway, from junction 22 when approaching from the south and junction 18 when approaching from the north.

There are a few options both on and off the airport, including some in walking distance. For maximum convenience, there are Meet and Greet services.
On-Airport Parking at Bristol Airport
Within the perimeter of Bristol airport and run by the airport there are several car parks, from the Long-stay car park to the Premier car park. These car parks are self-park with number plate recognition and you can keep your car keys.
Long Stay Parking at Bristol Airport
The official Long Stay car park, situated opposite the airport terminal and is an approximate 3-4-minute stroll away, or there is a bus transfer available should you prefer it.
Short Stay Parking at Bristol Airport
For those in a hurry, the Premier car park is very close just a 150 metre walk to the terminal, ideal for the business passenger.
Off-Airport Parking near Bristol Airport
The cheapest option is the Silver Zone car park which is also run by the airport. It is a little further away, and the free bus take 4-5 minutes to get to the terminal. These transfers run 24 hours, so no need to worry about delayed flights. You will need to leave your car keys at this car park.
Meet and Greet at Bristol Airport
The airport also provides a Meet and Greet service right outside the terminal for maximum convenience. Super for larger parties with children, those with large items of luggage like skis etc. and for anyone with mobility problems as drop off is just 50 meters from the terminal in the Express Drop off car park.
Hotels with parking at Bristol Airport
The Hampton by Hilton Bristol Airport is a new hotel just 250 metres from the airport via a direct walkway. You can’t stay closer.
Among the hotels a little further away is the comfortable Winford Manor just off the A38, set in 7 acres of grounds but just 5 minutes transfer time from the airport.
Bristol Airport Departure Lounge
You will find all the usual airport facilities here. The eateries include Dexters Restaurant and Soho Coffee co. where you can relax whilst you wait for your flight.
You can drop into the World duty free for a little retail therapy before your flight, or in one of the other outlets including JD Sports and Dixons as well WH Smith where there's still time to pick up your holiday reading.
Within the terminal there is up to 60 minutes free WiFi, and other services to be found are a bureau de change, cash dispensers, toilets and baby changing rooms.
Bristol Airport Lounge
By booking an executive lounge you can get away from the hustle and bustle enjoying complementary refreshments and a peaceful start to your journey no matter which airline you are flying with.
Bristol Airport has two lounges, the Aspire Lounge open to both adults and families located next to Dexters Restaurant in the Departure Lounge. Here they serve complimentary wines, beers, spirits as well as soft drinks, teas and coffees. There are also hot snacks like bacon rolls at breakfast time or soup and roll later in the day, as well as treats such as crisps, nuts, cakes, biscuits or English cream tea.
Then there is the Aspire Lounge plus, a little more expensive, but is exclusively for adults with drinks and snack as above but with some upgraded food options and drinks including Prosecco and exclusive single malt Spey whiskey.

Not advised beforehand that Silver Zone was closed although the website claimed it was open. Directed to Long Stay car park and walked to terminal rather than the bus service from Silver Zone. Not too much of a problem as no time lost waiting for the bus. Would not have been happy had it been raining.

On arrival at Silverzone car parking on Sunday 20th Sept we found the car park closed due to Covid and a sign directing us to use the long stay car park. It would have been good to have been contacted prior to our arrival to let us know what was happening. No issues with using long stay but was a long way to walk with no buses operating. Good job we are not elderly.

I booked the off site Silverzone car park but when I arrived there it was closed and was now being used as a Covid testing centre - I WAS NOT INFORMED OF THIS.... I was redirected to the Longstay car park at Bristol Airport. I had trouble finding a parking space then had to walk 10 mins to the terminal at which point it started to rain and there were no buses in sight - I did not pay for this service and was extremely disappointed.

Silver Carpark was closed as it is a COVID testing point which is fine if only this was clearly marked and or Information communicated at the time of booking. We were put in the long stay car park which was actually closer but only found this out after going to the silver zone first. Otherwise booking was easy, price was great just need better relaying of information to customers.

It is not possible to rate as our flight was cancelled and therefore could not go. We cannot get a refund and have lost the money. I will not book parking until last minute next time. It would be nice for a reminder a few days before to give chance to cancel.

Great drop off and bus into terminal. Busy coming back. Could look at car keys collection, as it seem to take a long time, as each receptionist was walking backwards and forwards to the key boxes. Could you put the key box behind them in stead of up the corner?

I couldnât understand why my car on my return was in CE2 so far away from the office , when most of the car park was empty , it was raining and with an injured knee was hard work .... the lady who gave me my key ... quote ...itâs just behind the building .... not May think about using one that doesnât move my car

Frequently Asked Questions
Flexible bookings can be cancelled any time after the booking is made, up to 24 hours before your booking arrival date.
There is a £10 cancellation fee, with the balance refunded. unless you took out the waiver fee when booking.
You can make the cancellation yourself by going to the help page and clicking on Cancel Booking
Non-flexible bookings cannot be amended or cancelled. Flexible bookings can be amended without incurring an amendment fee, however if the amendment results in a price increase ( e.g. a date change), you will be required to pay the additional amount. You can request the amend by going to https://www.bookfhr.com/help/ and clicking on Amend Booking.
Holders of the Park Mark® award have been risk assessed by a crime prevention officer from the local police. The Safer Parking Scheme is an initiative of the Association of Chief Police Officers and is managed by the British Parking Association.
We'll send you an email confirmation following your booking. This will confirm all the details of your booking, including a booking reference, so you can check that everything is ok.
If you didn't receive a booking confirmation email from us, please check your email provider spam/junk folder.
To re-send your booking confirmation, find your booking and select the 'Re-send booking confirmation' option.
It is important to have access to your Booking Confirmation, but you don’t have to print it. You must however ensure it is fully visible on your phone or device, so you can see all the information, directions and procedures you need to follow.
Booking Confirmations are sent upon completion of your booking, so if you don’t see it in your inbox please check your Junk/Spam folder in case it is there.
You can view or print or resend your confirmation voucher yourself by going to our help section and clicking on View Booking or Resend Confirmation Email.
If you do not have the booking reference number, you can email us, or call us.
There is no charge to amend your car details.
You can make the change yourself by going to our help section and clicking on Amend Booking.
An invoice showing payment made will be sent to you by separate email from either Worldpay or from PayPal.
We don't use the parking confirmation as a payment receipt, as they sometimes need to be handed over to the car park.
You can get a VAT invoice by going to our Help page and clicking on Request VAT Invoice
Most car parks charge per day or part thereof, i.e. they count the day you enter the car park and the day you leave. That means a 7 night trip is 8 calculated as days parking and a 14 night trip will be 15 days parking.
This will depend on the car park you book, but we recommend that you arrive to drop the car off at least minutes 30 minutes prior to your earliest check-in/bag drop time.
The 'parking from' time on your confirmation is the time slot the car park has allocated you, so it’s important to let us know if you need to change the time, if its more than 24 hours before you are due to park. If it is less than 24 hours before your meet is due, you should call the chauffeurs using the number on your confirmation voucher.
Vehicle Details We can update vehicle details at any point. There is no charge for amending vehicle details.
Dates & Times Most bookings can be changed up to 24 hours before the booked arrival date. However, if you have booked an option marked as Non-refundable or Saver then the dates and times on these options cannot be amended and the booking cannot be cancelled. We are unable to amend details with 24 hours of your booked arrival date.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund on bookings that aren’t used due to a vehicle breaking down.
It's not a problem if your flight back to Bristol is delayed. Your car will be kept safe and you can pay for any additional parking at the car park when you return to collect your vehicle.
