Bristol Airport information
Like many airports, Bristol Airport is built on the site of a former RAF base, opening in 1957 as Bristol (Lulsgate) Airport, replacing Bristol (Whitchurch) Airport as the city's airport. Now known simply as Bristol Airport, it is owned exclusively by Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan.
In 2016 it was the 9th busiest airport in the UK, with over 7.6 million passengers passing through. A popular airport for travellers from Wales, Somerset and Devon.
Located just eight miles south of the city centre, it has good transport links and is easily accessible from anywhere in the South West.
How to Get to Bristol Airport
Bristol Airport is located on the A38 and is signposted from the M5 motorway, from junction 22 when approaching from the south and junction 18 when approaching from the north.

Car Parking Options at Bristol Airport
There are a few options both on and off the airport, including some in walking distance. For maximum convenience, there are Meet and Greet services.
On-Airport Parking at Bristol Airport
Within the perimeter of Bristol airport and run by the airport there are several car parks, from the Long-stay car park to the Premier car park. These car parks are self-park with number plate recognition and you can keep your car keys.
Long Stay Parking at Bristol Airport
The official Long Stay car park, situated opposite the airport terminal and is an approximate 3-4-minute stroll away, or there is a bus transfer available should you prefer it.
Short Stay Parking at Bristol Airport
For those in a hurry, the Premier car park is very close just a 150 metre walk to the terminal, ideal for the business passenger.
Off-Airport Parking near Bristol Airport
The cheapest option is the Silver Zone car park which is also run by the airport. It is a little further away, and the free bus take 4-5 minutes to get to the terminal. These transfers run 24 hours, so no need to worry about delayed flights. You will need to leave your car keys at this car park.
Meet and Greet at Bristol Airport
The airport also provides a Meet and Greet service right outside the terminal for maximum convenience. Super for larger parties with children, those with large items of luggage like skis etc. and for anyone with mobility problems as drop off is just 50 meters from the terminal in the Express Drop off car park.
Hotels with parking at Bristol Airport
The Hampton by Hilton Bristol Airport is a new hotel just 250 metres from the airport via a direct walkway. You can’t stay closer.
Among the hotels a little further away is the comfortable Winford Manor just off the A38, set in 7 acres of grounds but just 5 minutes transfer time from the airport.
Bristol Airport Departure Lounge
You will find all the usual airport facilities here. The eateries include Dexters Restaurant and Soho Coffee co. where you can relax whilst you wait for your flight.
You can drop into the World duty free for a little retail therapy before your flight, or in one of the other outlets including JD Sports and Dixons as well WH Smith where there's still time to pick up your holiday reading.
Within the terminal there is up to 60 minutes free WiFi, and other services to be found are a bureau de change, cash dispensers, toilets and baby changing rooms.
Bristol Airport Lounge
By booking an executive lounge you can get away from the hustle and bustle enjoying complementary refreshments and a peaceful start to your journey no matter which airline you are flying with.
Bristol Airport has two lounges, the Aspire Lounge open to both adults and families located next to Dexters Restaurant in the Departure Lounge. Here they serve complimentary wines, beers, spirits as well as soft drinks, teas and coffees. There are also hot snacks like bacon rolls at breakfast time or soup and roll later in the day, as well as treats such as crisps, nuts, cakes, biscuits or English cream tea.
Then there is the Aspire Lounge plus, a little more expensive, but is exclusively for adults with drinks and snack as above but with some upgraded food options and drinks including Prosecco and exclusive single malt Spey whiskey.

The multi storey car park at Bristol airport is an excellent facility. I would have rated it 5 stars but on trying to leave the car park my number plate was not recognised and they wanted to charge an extortionate amount for parking over 5 days. I had of course pre-paid so I pushed the 'help' button for assistance; the problem then was that it took ages for somebody to answer the call.

I have used Silver Zone parking lots of times usually with no issues but this time that wasnât the case. Upon returning from our trip (tired, wet and cold at 11pm) we were directed to the parking space number for our car. We walked in the wind and rain to said parking space only to find that it was not our car parked there. We the had to walk back to the reception where we then waited until they found it. It apparently had not been brought back from the car wash area where we had paid Â£25 for a full valet to be done whilst we were away. They had not brought it back. Not what you want to hear at 11pm when you are cold and tired from your journey. We would book again because there isnât really a lot of choice if you want to use your own transport back and forth to the airport.

Very easy arrival and parking process. Reasonably close to the airport.... Took about 30 minutes from arrival at car park to arriving at the departure terminal. With sufficient space on transfer bus to sit and storage to hold luggage. Return from arrivals at airport not quite as good experience. Although we only had to wait about 10 minutes for a bus to arrive, there was a further 10 minute delay whilst awaiting more passengers. When these finally arrived there was no space for them to sit and nowhere for their luggage. In addition many people who had got on first were heading for the car rental area were at the back of the bus and couldn't get off. Due to luggage in the aisle and car park passengers standing in the aisle. Resulting in total chaos when the bus got to the rental area..... When we finally got to the car park it was easy to retrieve the car keys and find the car. Unfortunately the bus transfer on the return trip spoiled the experience.....I will probably look to using a taxi next.

Easy, quick and effecient, was a bit concerned about the reviews saying they had issues when leaving but shouldnt have worried Usually use the silver zone (which is great) but as the deal was only a couple of quid more tried the long stay and will use again at the right price

I have used silver zone many times with no problems. But I arrived back at Bristol last night & felt that there was to many people crammed into the bus at the airport. They now drop off people at car hire 1st before carrying on to car collection & 2 people were stuck at the back of the bus & driver drove off with them still on board ! Several people pressed the stop buttons that didn't seem to work & shouted to the driver who seemed oblivious to what was going on ! Problem needs to be sorted before someone gets hurt.

Flexible bookings can be cancelled any time after the booking is made, up to 24 hours before your booking arrival date.
There is a £10 cancellation fee, with the balance refunded. unless you took out the waiver fee when booking.
You can make the cancellation yourself by going to the help page and clicking on Cancel Booking
Non-flexible bookings cannot be amended or cancelled. Flexible bookings can be amended without incurring an amendment fee, however if the amendment results in a price increase ( e.g. a date change), you will be required to pay the additional amount. You can request the amend by going to https://www.bookfhr.com/help/ and clicking on Amend Booking.
Holders of the Park Mark® award have been risk assessed by a crime prevention officer from the local police. The Safer Parking Scheme is an initiative of the Association of Chief Police Officers and is managed by the British Parking Association.
We'll send you an email confirmation following your booking. This will confirm all the details of your booking, including a booking reference, so you can check that everything is ok.
If you didn't receive a booking confirmation email from us, please check your email provider spam/junk folder.
To re-send your booking confirmation, find your booking and select the 'Re-send booking confirmation' option.
It is important to have access to your Booking Confirmation, but you don’t have to print it. You must however ensure it is fully visible on your phone or device, so you can see all the information, directions and procedures you need to follow.
Booking Confirmations are sent upon completion of your booking, so if you don’t see it in your inbox please check your Junk/Spam folder in case it is there.
You can view or print or resend your confirmation voucher yourself by going to our help section and clicking on View Booking or Resend Confirmation Email.
If you do not have the booking reference number, you can email us, or call us.
There is no charge to amend your car details.
You can make the change yourself by going to our help section and clicking on Amend Booking.
An invoice showing payment made will be sent to you by separate email from either Worldpay or from PayPal.
We don't use the parking confirmation as a payment receipt, as they sometimes need to be handed over to the car park.
You can get a VAT invoice by going to our Help page and clicking on Request VAT Invoice
Most car parks charge per day or part thereof, i.e. they count the day you enter the car park and the day you leave. That means a 7 night trip is 8 calculated as days parking and a 14 night trip will be 15 days parking.
This will depend on the car park you book, but we recommend that you arrive to drop the car off at least minutes 30 minutes prior to your earliest check-in/bag drop time.
The 'parking from' time on your confirmation is the time slot the car park has allocated you, so it’s important to let us know if you need to change the time, if its more than 24 hours before you are due to park. If it is less than 24 hours before your meet is due, you should call the chauffeurs using the number on your confirmation voucher.
Vehicle Details We can update vehicle details at any point. There is no charge for amending vehicle details.
Dates & Times Most bookings can be changed up to 24 hours before the booked arrival date. However, if you have booked an option marked as Non-refundable or Saver then the dates and times on these options cannot be amended and the booking cannot be cancelled. We are unable to amend details with 24 hours of your booked arrival date.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund on bookings that aren’t used due to a vehicle breaking down.
It's not a problem if your flight back to Bristol is delayed. Your car will be kept safe and you can pay for any additional parking at the car park when you return to collect your vehicle.
