Gatwick Airport Hotels South Terminal
If you're flying from Gatwick South Terminal, then a couple of options within walking distance are: Hilton London Gatwick South - connected via a covered walkway to the South Terminal and has free transfers to the North Terminal which only takes a couple of minutes. Facilities include a LivingWell Express Gym and various dining options. 3.5* Courtyard by Marriott Gatwick - this is walking distance to Gatwick South Terminal but alternatively there is a minibus. Facilities include a gym, WiFi (payable locally), Volare restaurant and Volare bar/lounge.
Gatwick Airport Hotels North Terminal
If you're flying from Gatwick North Terminal, there are a couple of hotels which are within a few minutes' walk: 4* Sofitel London Gatwick - connected to the North Terminal via a covered walkway. The Cheapest Gatwick Airport Hotels
It's worth noting that if a hotel is off-airport there may be a transfer cost payable in addition to the room price. Prices vary dependent on when you travel, however there are a few Gatwick hotels which offer cheap rates: 4* Copthorne Hotel Effingham is set in 40 acres of parkland. This hotel has great facilities including a 9-hole golf course, tennis and gym. Transfers to the airport take approximately 15 minutes and cost £4.50 per person. If you are purely looking for a cheap room close to the airport, the 3* Britannia Lodge Hotel and 3* Europa are 15 and 10 minutes (respectively) transfer by taxi costing approximately £9 each way.
The Best Gatwick Airport Hotels for Families
If you are travelling with your family, which hotel is the best will depend on your budget. If you have young children, staying on-airport at Gatwick means that they will get extra time in bed before you have to wake them. The Hilton London at South Terminal or Sofitel at the North Terminal would be great as they have a covered walkway to the airport terminals. However, if you are looking for a mid-budget hotel, the recently refurbished 4* Sandman Signature London Gatwick has all the facilities you would need with young children, including a swimming pool, in-room fridge and microwave, and free WiFi. Transfers to Gatwick Airport take approximately 8 minutes for a fixed fee of £8.50.
The Best Gatwick Airport Hotels for Couples
At FHR, we have a 4* Super Saver Rate which offers superb value with the only catch being that you are only told the hotel name once you have booked. However, if you want to play detective have a good read of the description and see if you can guess which hotel it will be! For a hotel that has all the facilities including a swimming pool, fitness suite, restaurant, bar combined with fantastic room amenities including a fridge, premium bedding, rain showers and free Wi-Fi, look no further than the 4* Sandman Signature London Gatwick. For those who want convenience and love a hot breakfast, then the Hampton by Hilton Gatwick North would be a good bet.
The Best Gatwick Airport Hotels for Business Travellers
For the business traveller we know that time is money, so the Gatwick hotels of choice would be the Sofitel London Gatwick at the North Terminal or the Hilton London Gatwick at the South Terminal as both are accessible by covered walkways from the terminals.

Gatwick Airport Hotels with Parking
When you travel to the airport by car, you need to find somewhere to leave your vehicle whilst you are away. Combining parking with an overnight stay in an airport hotel before you fly takes away the stress of an early morning start. There is no need to rush to the airport or worry about getting caught up in roadworks, diversions or slow traffic on the way. An added incentive; sometimes it can work out cheaper to book a hotel with parking than to book airport parking on its own. Booking a Gatwick airport hotel with car parking included in the package can be cost-effective, but does bring a set of common questions:
Does the hotel have its own car park, or do I need to find one?
Most hotels will take care of your parking arrangements in their own car park, or you can opt to have meet and greet parking included, or pick the option with long stay parking at a secured car park nearby.
If the hotel does have a car park, will my vehicle stay there or be moved?
If you book a hotel with parking on-site at the hotel, (this will be clearly stated in the hotel's information), your car will remain in the hotel's car park.
Is the car park secure?
The hotel's own car parks will usually have a barrier as well as CCTV.
Will I leave my keys, or do I take them with me?
If the hotel has its own car park, you will need to be prepared to leave your keys for fire safety reasons and some hotels will need the keys to park your car in a special area of the car park for long term parking. If you book a hotel with a meet & greet package you will need to leave your keys for the chauffeur collecting your car.
How far is the hotel from the airport terminal?
The distance from the hotel to Gatwick Airport will vary. We offer several hotels on airport, which means they are within walking distance of the south terminal or north terminal. Our off-airport hotels are situated a few minutes' drive away.
Do I need a transfer, and if so do I arrange that or does the hotel?
For off airport hotels located a few miles away from Gatwick Airport, you will need a transfer. Many hotels have either regular shuttle services available (charges will apply), or they will arrange a taxi for you on request, at your own cost. Please note that some hotel shuttle services might not run 24 hours per day, it is your responsibility to confirm this with the hotel.
Gatwick hotels with on airport parking
Hotels that offer on-airport parking are located at the airport itself. Some hotels have their own car park, alternatively you can use Gatwick's Long Stay car park. Parking for Hilton London Gatwick South is at the South Terminal Long Term car park. The hotel is located just minutes from check in at Gatwick's South Terminal, accessed via a covered walkway. Hampton by Hilton and Sofitel London Gatwick have their own car parks and are connected to Gatwick's North Terminal via a covered walkway. If you are staying near the South Terminal, but flying from the North Terminal (and vice versa), to get between terminals, simply take the inter-terminal shuttle service. It runs every few minutes 24/7 with a journey time of just two minutes.
Gatwick hotels with off airport secure parking (park & ride)
Off-airport hotels require a transfer to Gatwick Airport, which will incur additional cost, or if you choose the meet and greet package you will meet at the departure terminal, so transfers will not be required. Transfer by taxi from Europa Hotel Gatwick will cost from £9 each way (depending on numbers) and take approximately 10 minutes. This hotel has its own car park. Copthorne Hotel Effingham and Copthorne London Gatwick have onsite car parking and are 10 minutes from the airport by taxi. Alternatively, a minibus transfer runs hourly between 4:15am and 11:15pm, costing £4.50 per person. A reduced rate taxi service from the airport to the hotel can be requested on return, costing from £9.50.
Meet & Greet
Why not combine your Gatwick hotel overnight stay with a Meet & Greet service. For this you will need to drive to the airport after your hotel stay. A fully insured driver will meet you at the airport terminal and take your vehicle to a secure car park. On your return, the driver will deliver the vehicle back ready for your collection. Europa Hotel in Gatwick
No complaints really about the hotel. Cheap and included parking fervour holiday. The only issue was that we booked including breakfast but as we had an early flight we couldn't have the breakfast (which we paid for). If we'd known this we could of saved the money and used it at the airport.

Europa Hotel in Gatwick
The car park was atrocious you needed Wellington boots to get through, it was chaotic with no organisation, people just dumped their cars anywhere. Hotel was OK but encountered very rude reception staff who refused to book our car in and threatened to fine using we left the car, fortunately FHR who were brilliant sorted this by contacting the hotel manager. Room smelled fusty and had cleaners knocking on our door before 9am. I would not use this hotel again.

Europa Hotel in Gatwick
The Europa is a Britannia Hotel, and like the others I've stayed in is a bit run down and unloved, but cheap. Parking is fine so it does offer a budget Hotel + Park option for Gatwick, although you need to factor in at least £35 return for taxi fares. I'd probably stay there again but not under any illusion that it'll be part of the holiday to look forward to
