Airport Inn Airport in Manchester

Hotel room was small but for one night o.k. transfers where on time just a little mix up on return transfer we were told to meet at incorrect area but the taxi driver found us so no problem. On return to hotel to pick up my car it was in right old state. Had to park under some trees/bushes. Pleased it was only a week and not two.

Airport Inn Airport in Manchester

We normally book with premier inn however after doing a price comparison we opted to give the Britania Airport inn a try as they offer onsite parking. Having read the recent reviews we where slightly anxious however given the great price we paid for 1 nights stay and 15 days parking. I think we got a bargain. Firstly, yes the rooms are tired but our room directly over the entrance was spotlessly clean which is more important than fancy furniture, after all it's just a place to lay your head. The public areas all seem fairy clean too. We had read negative reviews beforehand regarding the staff but to be honest when we arrived the lady on reception gave us a smile and a warm welcome, staff working on the bar where friendly too. Didn't try the restaurant as we walked 10 minutes down the road to a nice looking pub, food all microwaved to death though sadly. Spent most of the evening after dinner in the hotel bar which was fine. Didn't have any issues with noise again maybe lucky but slept well. We did however take a travel fan with us as we are in the midst of a heatwave. Used the airport transfers that are available to book through the hotel. £6 each return which again was a fair price. The morning trip to the airport went smoothly. The return trip 2 weeks later, not so. The instruction leaflet and booking form we where given is out of date. Due to drop off restrictions the cab company no longer pick up outside the jet 2 area of terminal 1. So after ringing the taxi from the location we where sent back round to the meet and greet carpark before the would accept my booking. A little annoying. The m&g carpark is now the only place everyone can go to meet their pickup both taxi and private so it's bedlam and meant a total wait of 40 minutes to get back to the hotel to pick our car up. We would definately use this hotel package again.

Airport Inn Airport in Manchester

The hotel is very close to the airport without being on top of it. Easy to find and plenty of parking. Close for a drive into Wilmslow for some dinner etc too. Check in was fine. The room was basic but perfectly acceptable for our needs. However, the coffee was vile, a upgrade here would be nice. The lift to the airport was great, right outside, totally hassle free. Friendly driver. Sadly, once I Returned the service wasn’t so good. I called them to collect me,my partner and two young children and take us back to the hotel and my car but the hotel pay for number after being automatically answered left me waiting a while and when I did speak to the woman on reception she said I’d be better off getting a private taxi and not using their shuttle, she then transferred me to a private taxi company which did not answer the phone. We had to walk around and try to find a unoccupied taxi. There wasn’t any so we went back into the airport and found a company there. Was a bit of a wait but the service from that taxi company was excellent, very professional, unlike the woman who answered my call from Airport inn. Seems like she really couldn’t be bothered.

Britannia Stockport near Manchester

The hotel and breakfast where both fine and ok . But the free up to 15 days parking was a really poor service. The car park is not secure and the instructions and service from reception at the sister hotel where you park the car are no-existent. We were just hand 2 vouchers which both stated hotel- to -airport tax. The taxi driver ( once we found him) took both of these off us on the way to the airport. On our return from the airport and ringing the number provide. The taxi company would not pick us up without the voucher reference number which we did not have or pay £12. After 4 different calls to Britannia no one could provide or find any information on our booking!! Therefore we had to pay for a taxi. Additionally even though our car was parked on there premises they could not find any reference for the booking. how they know your car is parked within there premises is beyond me and we felt conned on our return from holida!

Airport Inn Airport in Manchester

Handy for the airport, with good transport arrangements, however, the hotel looks very much like it's in need of an upgrade, it's looking a bit 'tired', and the lack of a lift is a issue with suitcases.

Britannia Country House in Manchester

The lift at the hotel was not working when we arrived and was given a room on the 4th floor up about 8 different staircase levels. Couldn't breathe when reach the top. The Room had a small window that opened an inch. It was hot. Asked for a fan but had none left. We stayed again on return after 2 weeks the lift was still out of order. Given room on 2nd floor as stated could not cope with going up to the 4th floor. Still bad. Room was a lot better large 2 large windows still didn't open wide but a lot better.

Airport Inn Airport in Manchester

The hotel was clean and had everything we needed tho a lift would have been helpful; trying to carry 4 suitcases up steps with 2 young kids at 3am wasnt great! The transfer from the airport was apallingly bad. They gavs us a number for a taxi firm which we found out would/could only pick up from the train station. We discovered this on landing and had to drag the suitcases and 2 very tired kids half a mile to be picked up at 2.30am! Not to be repeated.

Britannia Stockport near Manchester

Everything that could be done wrong probably was in case of this Park+Fly event with Britannia hotel. 1. On arrival I've found out that the next day before my early morning flight I will have to leave the hotel and drive to a different one to leave the car there and get my transfer to the airport. Quite a surprise considering the whole point of Park+Fly is convenience and saving time. I had to get up more than an hour earlier because of this (which is a lot when one flies at 6am). 2. The hotel felt worn and unhygienic. There were pieces of used linen, cloths and mops in corridors lying around. The smell was very unpleasant. 3. The receptionist at that other hotel was totally unaware what's going on when it comes to transfers. And not very much willing to talk to customers either. 4. Our taxi was half an hour late! Despite us being there much earlier and telling the reception we are on a rather tight schedule. 5. Return trip was not better organized either. At the airport I had to walk from one taxi to another telling them my name, rather frantic procedure at a busy, noisy and polluted with car exhausts place. That transfer (back to the hotel) was half an hour late, too. My opinion: Avoid, avoid, avoid!
