Heathrow Airport is set to see more of the Airbus A380 after Singapore Airlines announced that it is to increase its services to London using the giant plane.
The carrier will offer an additional A380 service on its Singapore-London route on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
This change will increase the number of weekly flights that use the Airbus superjumbo from seven to 11.
Huang Cheng Eng, Singapore Airlines’ executive vice-president of marketing, said: "Our A380 products have been very well received by our customers and loads on the Singapore-London route have been exceptionally encouraging.
"The deployment of another A380 on this route will cater to continual strong demand from customers travelling between Singapore and London."
The additional services will be available from July 16th, shortly after Singapore Airlines receives its fifth A380.
There will be a temporary break in A380 services from Singapore to London between July 31st and August 9th as the aircraft is deployed on routes to Beijing to cater for the increased demand generated by the Olympic Games.
