Passengers travelling from Doncaster Sheffield Airport have been given some travel tips for their journeys over the festive period.
Mike Morton, airport director, explained that Christmas and new year were expected to be one of the busiest of the 2009.
Over 20,000 people are expected to travel through the airport during this period.
Mr Morton added: "To keep queuing times to a minimum we’re asking passengers to come prepared and to think about what they are carrying in their hand luggage."
He explained that this would help to avoid some of the disappointment that had been seen in previous years when people were found to be carrying items that could not be taken onboard.
Liquid restrictions are still in place at Doncaster Sheffield Airport and the travel hub also advised travellers to leave presents unwrapped in luggage.
Passengers may also want to check their flight times with their airlines before travelling as the severe weather has caused some delays and disruptions over the last week.
