Newcastle Airport introduces fast-track security passes

Newcastle Airport has introduced a new system to help passengers who are short of time pass through security more quickly.

Fast-track security passes can now be purchased from two kiosks in the terminal, which will enable travellers to join a separate queue and ensure quicker passage through safety checks.

The tickets cost £3 and should be purchased after passengers have checked in for their flights.

Children under five are able to use the service for free when accompanied by a full paying adult.

Further changes which are currently taking place at Newcastle Airport include the closure of a free drop-off zone outside the terminal building.

The Chronicle reported that visitors must now use a car park located around three minutes away from the airport where they can park for free for the first 15 minutes.

A new express car park is being built, which once open will cost drivers £1 for the first 20 minutes of their stay.
