Hundreds of passengers who were stranded at Gatwick Airport due to the recent weather conditions have been helped out by Domino's Pizza.
The company this weekend gave passengers at the travel hub 500 slices of pizza for free.
The local Domino's pizza branch at Horley chose to deliver Christmas cheer to passengers in the form of fresh, hot pizzas.
Domino's workers braved the intemperate weather conditions to reach the travel hub, in the hope of cheering up passengers who were waiting for planes to depart.
"We just wanted to do something to help and while the planes couldn’t get through, at least our pizza delivery drivers still could! We understand how frustrating it must be for all those passengers and hope the free pizza slices helped to lift their spirits while they waited for the airport to reopen," Michaela Roberts, marketing manager of the Domino’s Horley franchise, said.
In addition, Gatwick Airport gave those who were stranded Wi-Fi and water, as well as putting extra staff on duty to deal with their needs.
