The commercial director of Leeds Bradford Airport has flown to Sardinia in order to take part in the sixth European Route Development Conference.
Tony Hallwood join more than 1,000 airline and airport delegates from around the continent, and it could see the hub being rewarded with more routes for its passengers.
According to a statement on the airport's website, Leeds Bradford is looking for new links with Germany, France, Spain and Eastern Europe as a priority.
"As one of the UK’s fastest growing regional airports, we are committed to attracting new routes to LBA and have a number of route targets which we are confident will deliver in 2012," he added.
Mr Hallwood went on to say that the conference would be the "perfect shop window" for Leeds Bradford to highlight the growing market potential of the region.
Last month, the Yorkshire-based hub announced that the Greek island of Kos has now been added to its list of destinations.
