Newcastle Airport is set to see a new four-star hotel open later this summer.
The Cairn Group has purchased the hotel to add to its portfolio, which already includes the Holiday Inn Newcastle Jesmond.
Such a deal means that plans can now get underway for the opening of the accommodation, which will comprise of 175 bedrooms and conference facilities.
As a result of the £25 million deal, 125 jobs are expected to be directly created at Newcastle Airport, as well as many more across the area.
"The glass-fronted, modern building provides exceptional views over the airfield and seamless access into the terminal and the facilities are second to none," asserted chief executive of the airport Dave Laws.
He stated that the hotel will add to the travel hub's ideal of "an enjoyable journey through the airport" for passengers.
Individuals not planning to stay at Newcastle Airport's hotel, but who still would like convenient access to and from the terminal, may prefer to use its car parking facilities.
All car parks are next to the terminal building and equipped with CCTV and electronically-controlled entry points.
