Manchester Airport and easyJet have teamed up to offer a first for the travel hub – a direct flight to Bilbao in northern Spain.
Such a milestone could make Manchester Airport an even more attractive place from which to fly out of, to add to its growing list of qualities.
These include easy access from the motorway and surrounding areas, a plethora of airlines and routes and ample parking, both close to the terminal and at hotels including the Britannia Airport Hotel and the Crowne Plaza.
A three-times-a-week service is now offered by easyJet to Bilbao from Manchester Airport.
The travel facility's managing director Andrew Harrison said: "This new destination demonstrates easyJet's continuing growth at the airport, with the airline recently announcing that a seventh aircraft will be based here shortly."
At present, easyJet offers flights from Manchester Airport to a range of destinations including Malta, Zurich, Amsterdam, Crete and Cyprus.
