The hotel was good, the room comfortable as were the beds. The only downfall is that we booked an early morning alarm call, and it didn't happen. All that was said something mechanically must have gone wrong. We were still in bed (be it 5.15) when we had a phone call to say the taxi was there. So there was a mad scramble to get dressed, repack cases. So no wash, no tea, and hair looking like I'd gone through a hedge backwards. I was not amused. Note to self do not rely on these calls, set your mobiles to wake you as well. Hotel wasn't overly apologetic either

We last stayed at this hotel 11 years ago - unfortunately it looks like nothing has been done in that time. All looking very tired and dated now, and the bar area is so depressing. The rooms were ok but 1970's paper thin walls just don;t cut it any more. Parking was ok but they need to state the fact that you are requested to leave keys - we haven't in the past and refused to this time also as were not aware prior so had left items in it.

FHR booking service was as usual first rate! Hotel is good for overnight stay, but rooms are getting a bit tired. However they are clean and comfortable. The hotel has now introduced an overnight parking charge of £2.00 if you are not parking with them for your holiday duration, which was a surprise to me. Never had to pay to park if I was staying in a hotel before!!!

Looks the part from outside an lobby but rooms very basic an shabby. Menu wasn't very big in the restaurant and even the basic steak wasn't available along with a few others bits. We've stopped at sister hotel down the road an that is a far better option.

Effingham Park is very tired and is in real need of an refurbishment, however, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Would use again, only for airport parking, would not book as a leisure break though.

at the beginning of our holiday we stayed , no problems , nice room good food, when we returned at 2;30a.m we were given a stinking noisy room, we asked for a different to be told no one else had complained in that room. 5 minutes later they rang us back and informed us that they had a twin room for us , turned out it was a double m room was not great, no choice of hot drinks only coffee, bad decorated but we were so tired we just wanted to sleep and get out. Such a shame as we have stayed in this hotel many many times, probably not again.

Very tired hotel. Needs maintenance in rooms. Our windows were nearly falling out and did not stop draughts, noise and could not be opened. The carpet was threadbare. The doors rattled all night especially the room dividing door and we had to put a chair against it. We could also hear everything g from the room next door. The food was good and the parking was smooth and we'll organised especially with the taxis.
