Heathrow Airport's exciting POD transport system will take you from the hotel right into terminal 5 (£8 each way) in less than 5 minutes. Parking is on site at the hotel. When arriving to the hotel pick a ticket and park in Car Park A. When returning to pick up the car go to the reception with your confirmation to get your ticket validated for exit.

Airport Transfer Details

Pod is £8 each way to terminal 5 - If flying from another terminal the Heathrow Express can be used for from terminal 5 to the other terminals. Alternatively guest can take bus 423 for free from the hotel to terminal 5 or the Hoppa bus to all terminals.

Directions for Thistle London Heathrow

From the west M4. At junction 5 (A40/ B470) leave the motorway and at the roundabout take the third exit A4, signposted Colnbrook. Travel along the A4 and follow signs for Heathrow and Hounslow. At traffic signals turn right, signposted M25, Heathrow Airport and Staines. After approximately 300 metres, at the next roundabout take the first exit onto the Old Bath road. Travel through Longford village and the hotel will be 250 metres on the right-hand side.

From London M4. A the M4, junction 4, take the 1st exit which is signposted Heathrow Terminals 1,2 and 3. At the next roundabout with the Concorde take the second exit signposted Terminal 4. After approximately 30 metres, take the first exit off the roundabout signposted exit Slough A4. At the traffic lights, turn left onto the A4, signposted Staines. Travel along Bath Road and just before McDonalds and the Total petrol station turn left onto Old Bath road. The hotel is located 100 metres on the left-hand side.

From M40, M25 Junction 15. At the M40 junction 1A joining the M25 follow signs for Heathrow. Stay on the M25 to junction 15 and join the M4 heading towards Heathrow and London. At junction 4 of the M4 take the third exit right, following signs for Terminals 1,2 and 3. At the next roundabout with the Concorde take the second exit signposted Terminal 4. After approximately 30 metres, take the first exit off the roundabout signposted exit Slough A4. At the traffic lights, turn left onto the A4, signposted Staines. Travel along Bath Road and just before McDonalds and the Total petrol station turn left onto Old Bath road. The hotel is located 100 metres on the left-hand side.

Heathrow POD will take you from the hotel right into terminal 5 (£8 each way) in just 5 minutes. If flying from another terminal the Heathrow Express can be used free of charge from terminal 5 to the other terminals.
There are several options for getting to the airport. We'd recommend using the POD, which is connected to the hotel via an outside walkway.

To get to T5:
The POD takes 5 minutes to get to T5 and costs £8 per person each way. You can buy tickets for the POD shuttle at the hotel reception. You'll get an access code and directions to the POD at the hotel's reception.
It leaves every 3 minutes and runs from 3am - 1am on weekdays, from 3am - 11pm on Saturdays and from 4am - 11pm on Sundays.
- Use the machine to call the POD - Once you get in, press the button for T5 - You'll arrive at Car Park Level 2, Business Parking and take the lift to Departures.

A taxi to T5 will cost around £16 and an MPV Taxi from £23.50.

Or you can take the Free Local Bus No: 423 or bus No: 7 from bus stop close to the hotel, from the hotel to terminal 5. On return from T5 to the hotel, Bus No: 423 can be caught from bus stop 6 and Bus No:7 from bus stop 8 at Terminal 5.

Transfers via the Hotel Hoppa* to T5 are charged at £5 single per adult. Children under 15 travel free (subject to change) if you buy them from the driver. Bus stops outside the hotel reception.

To get to T2 and T3

HEATHROW HOPPA TRANSFERS: BUS H4 to/from terminals 2 - 3 Transfers via the Hotel Hoppa are charged at £5 single per adult. Children under 15 travel free (subject to change) if you buy them from the driver.

Via the POD to T2, T3: Take the POD shuttle to T5 first, then use the free Heathrow Express train to get to T2 or T3

A taxi to T2 or T3 will cost around £13 and an MPV Taxi from £19.00

To get to T4:

The Hoppa* doesn't run to T4. You will need to take the Hoppa to T2 and from there catch the free Heathrow Express to T4.

Via the POD to T4: Take the POD shuttle to T5 first, then use the free Heathrow Express train to get to T4
A taxi to T4 will cost around £18 and an MPV Taxi from £23.50.

Room and bathroom small but adequate. Clean and friendly staff but old fashioned especially the restaurant and bar. With their position they can upgrade the decors. . But very convenient for airport and parking

Thistle hotels are often a bit worn and old fashioned looking so our expectations weren’t high! We booked it because of a very good price offer, proximity to the POD service into T5 and knowing we would be arriving late at night and leaving again very early in the morning to catch our flight. In reality, the whole experience was a lot better than our expectations. Yes the carpets/decor was a bit worn, but reception was bright and welcoming and the staff excellent in terms of friendliness and efficiency (which makes a change in ANY Heathrow hotel!) The room was small but clean and perfectly adequate for our needs. The parking was very easy and access to the POD’s into T5 excellent. For a total cost of £140 including 15 days on site parking, this was a perfectly adequate, friendly hotel in an ideal location for exceptional value

Polite and helpful staff with a fast a professional booking in procedure. If there is one criticism, it would be the price of bottled beers in the bar which were exorbitant. Easy access to POD parking providing direct access to T5. All in all, pleasantly surprised.

Hotel fine providing that planes are leaving on different flight path as rooms aren’t fully soundproof. Very noisy late evening but better next morning. No Heathrow hopper service despite your ads saying they did have one. Taxi is the only recommended way to terminal 3. Food quality good and package including parking is competitively priced.

This would have been a five star review if the check in process hadn’t been so stressful. The receptionist couldn’t find my booking and would not accept my fhr booking reference. I tried ringing fhr but as it was so early I couldn’t get anyone. I was becoming worried and decided to make one last attempt at the desk. I repeated my fhr reference and she suddenly said ‘Oh you mean ???….. and used the full name of fhr ‘ (which I didn’t recognise) and promptly found the reservation. Parking good, journey to Terminal 5 was excellent. The hotel room was clean and comfortable and we had a very good breakfast in the morning which we paid extra for.

A modestly priced hotel with parking. Keys retained. Facilities clean and comfortable if a little dated. Check in staff smartly dressed and helpful. Evening meal of basic fare but good. POD transfer very convenient. However, our transfer to Terminal 5 by POD was cancelled on the morning of our flight. Out of order! Disappointing as we had paid £12 for the trip. The hotel responded quickly with a back up bus. So no delay. Coming back POD was operating and we were quickly transferred back to hotel and car. In all a satisfactory experience and would consider staying again.

Fantastic location and only 2 stops on the bus (£1.65) to Terminal 5. Would have been 5 stars but staff / breakfast wasn’t ready at 6am which is the advertised opening time of the restaurant and the hot water in our bedroom was luke warm in the morning (it had been fine the night before). Despite these small points we would stay here again for the convenience and price to stay/park for 2 weeks.

The main reason for choosing this hotel was the convenience of using the Pod system to get to Terminal 5. Unfortunately this is still not active. There is a bus which can be picked up from the Pod Terminal. The reason we prefer to use the Pod is because it avoids any traffic issues. The hotel was ok, it does not take cash only credit/debit cards which would be useful to know beforehand. Parking was no problem and pickup was smooth.

Great pre-flight hotel ideal by location and hassle free parking in the hotel car park as opposed to meet & greet offering. Hotel itself 3 star at best although staff were excellent, room ok and although the Pod was out of action a bus replacement was adequate. All in all for the overall price would definitely use again
