I say pay more and use mid-stay car park which is a lot closer. although the pink car park is on airport it is quite far and we had to wait a long time for the bus. The car park layout isn't very clear and is difficult to find spaces (which are on stones and have chipped my paint work!)

I use the car park reasonably regularly and have not yet had any reason to be dissatisfied.

there always seems to few coqaches going to the long term car park and yet most people park in that one over a 25min wait at 3am!

Website confusing - booking confirmation showed gross price rather than net [of discount] price. Infrequent transfer bus.

Exit is VERY poorly marked - can hardly see it in the dark, so it is posible to drive over the kerb if the disabled spaces are unoccupied

Map and Directions
Directions for Long Term Car Park (Pink)
The airport is 2 miles from jct 10 of the M1 and is well signed from there. If you are travelling via the M25 leave at Jct 21 to join the M1. From the East and the A1 (M) go via the A505 from Hitchin. The airport is off the A505 and is clearly signed. Please allow extra time for your journey, due to roadworks on the M1. For further information please go to www.highways.gov.uk
When you pull up to the barriers, your car will be identified by the number plate recognition system, allowing for an easy start to your holiday journey. Youll be issued with a ticket and you need to keep that safe - you need it to be able to exit the car park when you come back.
Once you have found a place to park, lock up and keep your keys on you as your car will not be moved while youre away. Where you leave it is where itll stay. As well as this, there are also regular patrols, security lighting and a fence for greater peace of mind.
Make your way to one of the numbered bus stops dotted around the car park to catch the transfer to the airport. The silver buses run every 15 minutes, take just 15 minutes to get to the terminal and the bus journey is included in the price.
The bus drops you off at the Long Term parking bus stop right outside the airport. When you come back from your holiday, just head straight to the same bus stop you were dropped off at and you can catch the bus back to your car from there.
Be sure to remember which stop you got on at so that on your way back you get off at the correct drop-off point to collect your car. Youve still got your keys, so all you need to do is jump in and go.
The number of 24-hour periods charged for when you pre-book is calculated on the basis of the times you select when making your booking. However, if your actual entry and exit time changes and as a result your actual time in the car park runs into another 24-hour period you will be liable for an additional day's charge at the drive-up tariff
