Map and Directions
Directions for Mid Term Car Park (Green)
The airport is only 2 miles from jct 10 of the M1 motorway and the route from this exit is well sign posted. If you are travelling via the M25 leave at Jct 21 and join the M1. Access from the East and the A1 (M) is via the A505 dual carriageway from Hitchin. The airport lies off the A505 and is clearly sign posted. Please allow extra time for your journey, due to roadworks on the M1. For further info go to www.highways.gov.uk PLEASE ARRIVE AT CAR PARK AT LEAST 30 MINUTES BEFORE CHECK IN
Park just 5 minutes from the terminal and keep hold of your keys while you're away.
When you arrive at this on-airport car park, your car will be identified by the number plate recognition system so that you can enter through the barriers easily. You'll also be issued with a ticket from the machine. Take your ticket and keep it safe - you'll need it to be able to get out of the car park.
Once you have found a place to park, keep your keys with you because your car won't be moved while you're away. As well as this, there are also regular patrols, security lighting and a fence around the car park to give you greater peace of mind.
Make your way to one of the three bus stops and remember which one is nearest to your car. The new silver buses run every 15 minutes, take just 5 minutes to get to the terminal and the journey is included in the price.
The bus drops you off at the Mid Term Parking bus stop right outside the airport. When you come back from your holiday, just head straight to the same bus stop you were dropped off and you can catch the bus back to your car from there.
Hop off the bus at the same place it picked you up, head back to your car and you're ready to go! No waiting for your keys or for someone to bring your car back to you - it'll be exactly where you left it.
Hints, tips and extra bits:
The car park has designated Blue Badge bays close to the bus stops as well as accessible buses. You'll just need to display your badge whilst you're away.
The number of 24-hour periods charged for when you pre-book is calculated on the basis of the times you select when making your booking. However, if your actual entry and exit time changes and as a result your actual time in the car park runs into another 24-hour period you will be liable for an additional day's charge at the drive-up tariff
